Goethe Certificate A1

Start Deutsch 1 is a German exam for adults. It certifies that candidates have acquired very basic language skills and corresponds to the first level (A1). You can sit this exam at all Goethe Institutes around the world. There are many benefits to this exam. For example, you can be granted a visa to join your husband or wife in Germany or you can apply for a position as an au pair in Germany. In general, it is a great way to prove that you mastered the first milestone in your German language skills.

Start by working with the practice material. This way you can familiarise yourself with what’s required and the format. Also, watch a video clip of a real oral exam.
